Did you know that on a typical day, 32 million children in the U.S. eat cafeteria food? Or that most of these students consume over half of their daily calories at school?
Facts like these motivate us to connect kids to real food, and teach them how to make healthy choices through our sweetgreen in schools program. School cafeterias are one of the biggest areas of opportunity that exist in the battle against childhood obesity. Recently there has been discussion about what constitutes a quality lunch, so we took a look at some typical school meals around the world, and how our own country stacks up.

Surprised at what you see above? You can help us make an impact and change the way future generations eat! Now until December 29th, purchase a local apple at any sweetgreen location, and we’ll donate the proceeds to FoodCorps to help connect kids to real food.

Folks, you need to care about this drought in California. It is the 5th-largest food producer in the world and the biggest in the States. Thousands of migrants risk losing their jobs as crops are quickly drying up. Food prices will inflate nationwide if this does not get better. Water rations in the state will get stricter and hit low-income communities the hardest. People may need to be moved out of California. Pre-existing inequality will worsen with the economic strain. So how much time do we have to address this? NASA estimates that California has about one year of water left. You NEED to care about this.
so a few days ago i sat down for dinner and my mom handed me the camera with a strange look on her face. all she said was “you need to see this” and i was like ?? okay
but then

that is my dad with a pigeon on his head.
SO OF COURSE MY REACTION WAS JUST “WHAT?! HOW??? HOW” and APPARENTLY when my dad was outside gardening, he saw it land on the roof of our house. and then it just. flew down. and landed on his head
BUT NOW IT WON’T LEAVE

like the other morning i stepped outside to call my dad in for lunch and the pigeon was just sitting on the front porch watching him work

best friends forever

THIS IS THE DREAM
